Q. What can Herbal Medicine be used for? ~
A. Herbal Medicine can be used for almost anything for which you would consult your GP. There is a very wide range of conditions that a herbalist can treat, from the acute or chronic, simple or serious, and of mind, body and spirit. Herbal Medicines work on many levels, they are powerful yet they are also gentle, having very little known side effects.
Q. Can I take Herbal Medicine alongside Orthodox medicine? ~
A. Yes, With care and under the guidance of a professional Medical Herbalist, Herbal Medicine can also be used safely alongside orthodox medicine. Herbal Medicines can interact with Orthodox medication so it is important that checks are carried out to be sure of safety.
Q. What medicines and preparations would I be taking?
A. There are a wide range of medicinal plant preparations- from tinctures, teas, creams, infused oils, aromatic waters, flower remedies, essential oils, powered herbs, capsules and more, from which I make bespoke medicines according to individual needs. Mostly I use a mixture of tinctures for prescription medicine (Liquid extract of the medicinal plants).
Q. How long does it take to work?
A. Treatment can start taking effect very quickly. In some cases it can also take some time, like any other intervention. Whilst people often expect fast results, unlike the orthodox approach of treating symptomatically to give a 'quick fix' a holistic herbalist works to resolve the underlying problems which are causing the disease. The objective of treatment is to reset the balance of health, which can take time- Ruths saying is 'Every person has a different journey to dis-ease, and so must be their journey to heal'.. Ruth spends much time and consideration looking at each case with an intention to facilitate the most effective and lasting healing.
Q. Canclleation policies for event bookings
A. Cancellations must be made 72 hours before the day of the event. Any cancellations within the 72 hour period result in 50% booking fee loss. The remaining 50% can be used towards a future event booking.
Cancellations on the day of the event result full booking fee loss unless the space can be filled. The new COVID19 guidelines mean that event spaces are now limited. To make it possible for these events to go ahead, maximum bookings and payments for spaces must be fulfilled.
For any reason someone is unable to attend due to covid symptoms please be in contact to discuss.
Often there are people who we’re unable to attend due to full bookings, there is a stand by List for these people so cancelled spaces are occasionally able to be filled if early notice is given.
Q. What if the walk or workshop I have pre-booked is cancelled due to change in government policy?
A. Your booking will be transferable to a new date. You will be notified as soon as educational events are able to be up and running again and given first places on the bookings.
Unfortunately refunds are not viable for the business, however you will not lose your booking is kept on record and kept as a credit.
You will be notified as soon as we are able offer a new date for the workshop or walk is possible. Thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.
